Proofreading

What is proofreading?

Proofreading is the final edit before reaching out to agents/publishing houses or self-publishing the book. The editor will correct any remaining (minor) errors, including spelling and grammar.

Note: If a lot of errors are detected, the manuscript will be returned (along with any payment) and a copy edit will be suggested.

  • Final edit before publication
  • Projects requiring minor corrections
  • Basic fact checking
  • Correct references, if present
  • Spelling, grammar, and punctuation

When to order proofreading?

You’re confident the big-picture elements of your book are in shape (developmental editing) and you’ve completed a copy edit to catch to most offensive syntax and consistency issues. All that’s left is one final sweep for minor errors before your book is ready for agents/readers.
